Matthew Rhoades is an accomplished and respected industrial designer, design strategist, and college educator. As a veteran of several global design studios (Frog Design to Lifestyledesign) and former Nike Global Creative Director, Matthew’s creative career encompasses more than two decades of internationally recognized design honors; 40+ patents, 6 world records, and multiple other global design awards. Achievement highlights include an IDEA Gold Medal (bicycle design), a Newsweek “Product of the Year" for Disney consumer electronics, and designing the Trek Y-Bike, named “Third most influential mountain bike of all time.” In addition to his work as a designer, Matt also has an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management and New Product Development, faculty member (ACCD, PNCA, and the University of Oregon) and international keynote and speaker. His experience transcends traditional industrial design products, encompassing everything from furniture design to digital (UI/UX), brand strategy, cutting-edge innovation projects / technologies, new business strategy, and overall brand design excellence.
