Google Cloud CDN: how to make use of a 20% discount for a scalable web project

I’m trying to figure out how to properly scale a small app that suddenly started getting way more traffic than expected. Right now our server setup is fine for local users, but people from other regions complain about slow loading or timeouts. I checked out Google Cloud CDN since it’s supposed to take advantage of Google’s global edge network, but I’ve never actually used a CDN before. I also noticed there’s a 20% offer going around, which sounds helpful, but I’m not sure how to estimate if it’ll really cut costs in the long run. Has anyone here actually used it for a growing project?

I’ve noticed that many teams underestimate how much performance depends on physical distance between users and servers, especially once an app gains traction internationally. Even small optimizations in how content is cached or delivered can make a site feel way more responsive without changing the core code. Plus, having better visibility into traffic patterns can guide future scaling decisions instead of guessing what’s slowing things down.
