I ran into this issue last month while helping a friend organize documents for a visa application. We had to manually type passport details into a form, and it was surprisingly easy to mess up a letter or number, especially in that machine-readable zone at the bottom. It made me wonder how people who work with IDs all the time deal with this without losing patience. Do MRZ scanners actually save time in real situations, or do they create new problems like recognition errors?
