Google Cloud CDN: how to make use of a 20% discount for a scalable web project
I’m trying to figure out how to properly scale a small app that suddenly started getting way more traffic than expected. Right now our server setup is fine for local users, but people from other regions complain about slow loading or timeouts. I checked out Google Cloud CDN since it’s supposed to take advantage of Google’s global edge network, but I’ve never actually used a CDN before. I also noticed there’s a 20% offer going around, which sounds helpful, but I’m not sure how to estimate if it’ll really cut costs in the long run. Has anyone here actually used it for a growing project?

We implemented Google’s CDN last year when our user base spread across Europe and Asia, and the latency difference was night and day. The caching rules were easy enough to set up, and the QUIC support helped a ton with mobile users. Also, if you want to grab the current deal, the Google Cloud CDN promo codes give a nice rundown of the discount terms. For us, the best part was how smoothly it integrated with our load balancer and Cloud Armor, so we didn’t have to rethink our entire infrastructure. The discount was just a bonus at that point, but it definitely helped justify the switch internally.
