October 2025 is shaping up to be one of fashion’s most inspiring months yet — a true celebration of creativity with purpose.  Around the globe, leading fashion events are spotlighting sustainability like never before, blending innovation, artistry, and conscious intention on every runway and in every conversation. From the timeless sophistication of Paris to the forward-thinking spirit of Portland, there’s so much to discover, learn, and be inspired by. This month’s lineup is packed with sustainable highlights — visionary designers, groundbreaking materials, and meaningful educational experiences that empower all of us to design and live more consciously.

Paris Fashion Week Sustainability Spotlight

Paris Fashion Week remains the ultimate stage for haute couture and luxury fashion, and in October 2025, it continues to deepen its commitment to sustainability. Leading brands, such as Stella McCartney, renowned for their groundbreaking work with sustainable materials like seaweed yarns and regenerative fibers, headline a showcase that blends glamour with responsibility. Emerging designers are stepping forward with innovative biodegradable textiles, zero-waste pattern making, and revolutionary dyeing techniques. This season clearly signals that luxury and sustainability are not only compatible but essential for the future of fashion.

  • Notable Sustainable Designers & Brands:

    •  McCartney once again led the charge with a collection that was 98% sustainable and 100% cruelty-free. Her show opened with a powerful, manifesto-style message centered on unity — for humanity, animals, and the planet.

      Innovation highlight: McCartney introduced plant-based “feathers,” created in collaboration with UK startup Fevvers, showcasing how material innovation continues to redefine what luxury can be.


    • Niccolò Pasqualetti

       In partnership with textile recycling company Circ, Pasqualetti unveiled two looks crafted from Circ® Lyocell, a regenerated fiber made from recycled textile waste. The collection balanced avant-garde shapes with a quiet reverence for material responsibility — a testament to circular fashion in motion.


    • Robert Naorem

      Representing Northeast India on the global stage, handloom designer Robert Naorem presented his collection “Art of East India.” Using traditional silks and weaving techniques from Manipur, Naorem celebrated India’s rich textile heritage while promoting sustainable handloom practices that support local artisans.


    • NÜ CZN

       This mother-daughter duo, Judy and Nikki Murdock, made a bold Paris debut with gender-fluid designs created from luxury upcycled materials. Their work beautifully merges urban edge with high-fashion sensibility — proof that sustainability and street style are a perfect match.


    • MAZINI

       Founded by Maria Mazina, the Ukrainian womenswear label celebrated its 10th anniversary with an elegant Paris debut. Known for its refined tailoring and craftsmanship, MAZINI continues to prioritize sustainable fabrics and conscious production, blending modern minimalism with lasting design.


    • Aleen Sabbagh

       The couture label founded by sisters Aleen and Natalie Sabbagh made its first appearance in Paris with a message of “mindful craftsmanship.” Their SS26 collection emphasized environmental consciousness, blending artistry and sustainability in a way that felt both feminine and future-facing.

    • ANREALAGE Japanese designer Kunihiko Morinaga collaborated with Kyocera’s FOREARTH technology to debut garments featuring sustainable digital printing — a process that drastically reduces water pollution and CO₂ emissions. ANREALAGE once again proved that tech and fashion innovation can walk hand in hand toward a cleaner future.


      Chloé; Under the creative direction of Chemena Kamali, Chloé continues to set a standard as a B Corp–certified brand, leading the way in ethical luxury. The SS26 collection seamlessly integrated sustainable materials and responsible practices into timelessly elegant, free-spirited silhouettes — a perfect reflection of the brand’s modern, feminine ethos.


      Broader Sustainability Trends Emerging from Paris

      Across both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 collections, a few unmistakable themes emerged:

      • Upcycling & Biofibers: Designers showcased biomaterials, recycled textiles, and upcycled pieces that prove sustainability is no longer a niche — it’s a design language.

      • Circular Fashion: More brands are reimagining the full life cycle of a garment — designing for reuse, repair, and regeneration.

      • Ethical Sourcing: The industry’s ongoing pivot toward responsible material sourcing and local production continues to grow stronger.

      • Sustainable Show Production: Behind the scenes, companies like BETTER BETAK are transforming the way fashion events are produced — cutting waste and carbon emissions while maintaining high creative impact.

As New York Fashion Week embraces the future with a strong sustainability agenda, October 2025 highlights feature a vibrant mix of designers championing eco-friendly practices. Spotlighting accomplished brands like Calabash Wear and Harley De Oliveira, the city pulses with energy around circular design, natural textiles, and climate-conscious innovation.
